Dr Florian Lehmer

Dr Florian Lehmer studied economics at the University of Regensburg from 1998 to 2003. He then worked there until 2008 as a researcher and earned his doctorate in 2009 on the topic “Interregional Wage Differentials and the Effects of Regional Mobility on Earnings of Workers in Germany”.

Florian Lehmer is a senior researcher at the IAB`s “Occupations in the Transformation” research unit. His research interests are in the fields of empirical labour market economics and applied microeconometrics. At present he is mainly concerned with the effects of the digital and ecological transformation on the labour market. His research focuses in particular on the impact of digitization and decarbonization on individual employment biographies. From 2015 to 2020, he has headed the working group “Digital and Ecological Transformation” at the IAB. At present, he is coordinator of the reseach area “Structural Change and the Labour Market”.
