The German Socio-Economic Panel (Sozio-oekonomisches Panel, SOEP) is a representative survey of the private households in Germany which started in 1984 and which reinterviews the same persons and families annually. About 14,000 households and 30,000 persons participate in the survey.

Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) is the scientific survey name and also the name of a department at the German Institute for Economic Research (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, DIW).
