Dr Yuliya Kosyakova

Yuliya Kosyakova joined IAB as senior researcher in April 2016. At the IAB, she coordinates the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Survey of Refugees (together with Herbert Brücker) and leads the IAB working group “Consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic” (together with Laura Pohlan). Since 2022 she has been an associate lecturer at the University of Bamberg. Between 2019 and 2020 she has been a lecturer at the University of Mannheim. She studied Economics (European Economic Studies, MSc) at the University of Bamberg and received her PhD in Sociology at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence in 2016. Between 2011 and 2016, she was a part of the research team on the ERC-funded international comparative research project ‘Education as a Lifelong Process – Comparing Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies’ (eduLIFE) at the Department of Social and Political Science (SPS) in the European University Institute.

Her main research interests relate to labor market and employment research, migration and refugee research, international comparison, social stratification, gender inequality, life course research, and quantitative data analysis.
